Beaver County supports Wild Pink Yonder fundraiser
Beaver County supported the Wild Pink Yonder fundraising trail ride as it made its way across the county last week while making stops in Viking, Holden, Ryley and Tofield.
This is the fourth year for the trail ride, with founder Jane Hurl of Lamont in attendance with over 20 trail riders. The riders are raising funds for breast cancer research at the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
Hurl was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006, and started the ride after treatment. The 23-day ride started in Cypress Hills on Aug. 11 and ended Sept. 2 at the Whitemud Equestrian Centre in Edmonton.
“My riders come as far south as Walsh, Alta., east to the border, and north to High Level,” she said, as well as from Saskatchewan.
