RCMP report fatal single vehicle rollover north of Tofield

A young Tofield man was involved in a single vehicle rollover that took his life on Sunday, Aug. 26.

Sgt. Jim Warren re-ports that the accident was discovered about 5 a.m. that day when someone reported a vehicle upside down in the ditch.

Emergency personnel were called, but they found the driver and only person in the vehicle deceased at the scene.

Warren said the vehicle was heading south on Secondary Highway 834 when it went off the road into the east ditch, struck an approach and landed upside down. “The driver was wearing a seatbelt,” he said.

The victim has been identified as Samuel Wilson of Tofield. A trust fund has been set up at the Bank of Montreal in Tofield in the name of Wilson’s son, Tyler. Con-tributions can be made out to Tyler’s mother, Shannon Larin.
