The 17th Annual Total Ry-Tof Slo-pitch tournament, which took place Sept. 1-3 over the Labour Day long weekend, was another successful event with a total of 80 teams competing for the Jackie Kallal Memorial Trophy.

There were several returning teams among the teams that came from Big Valley, Blackfalds, Mallaig, Edmonton and Beaver County. Local teams included the Skronkers, Hellrazors, Foul Pole and Donut Holes. Several former residents also played on teams from outside the local community with names such as V-Cards, Hellifiknow, and the Bayside Tigers.

Play began with round robin games Saturday, Sept. 1 and Sunday, Sept. 2. Traditionally, 40 teams play against one another in Tofield and 40 in Ryley. Play continued on Sunday despite the rain and wind that occurred that day.
