WEB EXCLUSIVE! SGT WARREN RETIRING: LAST DAY FRIDAY, SEPT. 14/12

Sgt. Warren was instrumental in the Slave Lake fire clean-up and security. After 40 years plus he has announced Friday, Sept. 14/12 as his last day on duty protecting citizens in Beaver County

Sgt. Jim Warren, joint commander for Tofield and Viking RCMP detachments, has announced his retirement as of Friday, Sept. 14 after serving the Tofield area for over 17 years.

Warren, who has been a police officer for over 40 years, said he is leaving “with a great deal of sadness,” but said policing “is a young person’s profession.”

Since Sgt. Warren will be gone from the detachment as of this coming Friday, we urge everyone who can to stop in or call to let him know his years of service in the community, both as a police officer and citizen, are much appreciated.

Warren plans to remain in Tofield as a private citizen and to continue to contribute to the community with his wife, Marilyn, in his retirement.

Please see next week’s edition (SEPT. 18/12) for further details.
