Ryley Deputy Mayor Jorge Mendoza receives Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal in Chamber ceremony

Deputy Mayor of Ryley Jorge Mendoza proudly poses with the certificate he received as part of the bestowing of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal to him by Mayor Cyndy Heslin.

Village of Ryley Councillor and Deputy Mayor Jorge Mendoza received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal Feb. 11th in Council Chambers.

Mayor Cyndy Heslin made the presentation to Mendoza during the village’s committee of the whole meeting, and no-body was more suprised than the recipient himself.

“This was a total surprise for me, the highest honour in my life,” said Mendoza. “My wife was told to bring her camera to take pictures. She did not know the reasons and it was a surprise for her as well.”
