Meetings in Ryley expected to heat up landfill debate
Two back-to-back meetings in Ryley this week will heat up the debate on local landfills once again.
The Ryley Public Advisory Committee (RPAC) is hosting a town hall meeting on Wednesday, March 27. RPAC Chair Brian Strilchuk said officials from both Clean Harbors and Beaver Municipal Solutions (BMS) were invited to the meeting to explain their side of certain landfill issues that have caused public concern.
Strilchuk said the committee has received “no response” to the invitations.
A notice circulated to the people of Ryley said village council would be asked, among other things, if council is “concerned about the ‘hazardous dust’ (from Clean Harbors’ hill to the north) that blows over the school attended by Ryley, Holden and surrounding area students?”
