Second doctor tours Tofield and area

Things are starting to look up a little for Tofield’s medical future. Local officials are elated upon hearing that a doctor who toured Tofield and area in March has made his pledge to practice here, and is expected to arrive in the fall.

On the heels of this news, a second doctor arrived last week to get the formal tour. Officials are pulling out all the stops in the hope that Dr. Mancha Maphosa, who is from Johannesburg, South Africa, will also decide to hang out her shingle in Tofield.

Dr. Maphosa arrived Tuesday, April 16, and the following day was conducted on a tour of the medical facilities in Tofield, starting with the Tofield Health Centre where she met Dr. Richard Hackett and site manager Melody Hendriksen.
