Beaver County firefighters earn exemplary service medals

Three Beaver County firefighters have received exemplary service medals for their outstanding dedication and years of service in their communities.

Dave Oleksyn of Tofield, Dave Marko of Holden, and Ken Ruzicka were awarded the medals recently.

Oleksyn has 30 years of service under his belt, the same as Ruzicka, and Marko has 20 plus years of service. All of the firefighters are humble in nature, so having the announcement made public was a bit of a surprise.

But the news was well received, and many congratulations have been extended to them this past week.

Ruzicka, who also serves as a town councillor in Viking, received good wishes from fellow councillors.
