Young persons hurt after motorbike collides with truck – RCMP warn of daylight break-ins target jewellery
A man has been charged following a collision between a truck and a motorbike in Kingsway Estates southwest of Tofield.
Tofield RCMP Cpl. Dave Brosinsky said the incident took place Sunday of the Labour Day long weekend about 6:30 p.m.
An 18-year-old female was driving the motorbike with a 10-year-old boy as a passenger. The two collided with a pickup truck from the area, and were seriously injured.
Both went by STARS air ambulance to an Edmonton hospital where they are listed in serious, but stable condition.
Lorraine Shanks was one of the neighbours who live along R.R. 200 and Twp. Rd. 501, which is a paved portion.
Another neighbour called 911 and started first aide and CPR on the boy, who shanks said was turning blue.
“He saved his life,” she said. The neighbour kept working until the paramedics arrived… For more see the Sept. 4/13 issue of the Tofield Mercury.
