Drivers beware: camera pilot project could catch you whizzing past a school bus with lights flashing
If you are one of those people who is in too much of a hurry to stop and patiently wait for the lights on a school bus to stop flashing, then Brenda Johnson wants to catch you.
Johnson is keenly aware that the biggest danger to children is when they are getting on or off a bus.
When the school bus’ red flashing lights are activated, it is illegal to pass either coming or going.
The fine for not stopping is $402 and six demerit points yet, incredibly, many drivers do not heed the warning to stop. Instead, they proceed when it is un-safe to do so.
