Tofield’s Showcase celebrates culture in our midst

A new event made its debut in Tofield last weekend, Tofield’s Cultural Showcase, derived from the government’s Alberta Culture Days, with cultural events taking place all across the province from Sept. 27-29.

Tofield celebrated the many cultures and traditions in the community of Tofield and area, starting with the Farmers’ Market and Community Supper featuring entertainment.

The showcase was spearheaded by Loretta Kroeker with the help of several friends. The Farmers’ Market had traditional displays up along with the items on sale that day. The community supper celebrated generations of Mennonites in the area with “Mennonite sausage” and sauerkraut on the menu.
