Mayor Conquest asks for community support to bring Communities in Bloom back into Tofield
Tofield Mayor Harold Conquest explained Saturday the town’s stance when it comes to getting involved again in the Communities in Bloom program.
Council recently agreed that the town would not be
the initiators of rejoining the competition and called for members of the community to step forward if that was their wish.
The idea of getting back into CIB was one of the issues Conquest said he heard while door knocking during the municipal election in October when Conquest, a former deputy mayor, beat three-term mayor Nabil Chehayeb for the mayor’s chair.
However, after hearing information concerning the need for community involvement regarding various aspects of the CIB program, council agreed the responsibility should fall to community members.
