Fish and Wildlife nix cougar kill report on social media site

Rumours that a Lindbrook area farmer shot and killed a large female cougar with two cubs are bogus, said District Officer Lionel Veldkamp.

The rumour had originated on a Facebook website that caters to Tofield and area, and has since been pulled from the site despite being on for sometime. Many citizens showed concerns and others furthered the rumours.

Some stated how sad they were to hear of such an event, while others did not believe the posted photo was real. Nevertheless, it did stir up some fear and reaction from the public.
