Ryley Rebels win their 9th straight Zone title – head to Provincials March 21st

The Ryley Rebels Senior Girls’ Basketball team won their ninth consecutivezone championship held in Caroline March 14th and 15th.

The Rebels defeated Coronation in the first game 72-27, Daysland in the semi-final 65-50, which matched them up against the Bawlf Wild-cats in the final.

The Rebels’ team, which features nine rookies out of 11 players and only one Grade 12 player, looked to continue their strong play on the weekend against the Wildcats, who gave the Rebels their only loss in league play this year.

That loss spelled the first time that the Rebels lost to a Central Zone 1A team in the past nine seasons.
