Tour of Alberta accident west of Tofield

An accident between an SUV and car during Stage 4 of the 2014 Tour of Alberta bicycle race occurred west of Tofield on Highway 14 at R.R. 210a, sending both drivers to Tofield Health Centre with non-life threatening injuries.

The accident took place about 1:25 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 6 as the 100 plus entourage of bicycles and their support vehicles travelled down the highway be-fore heading north.

Stage 4 of the 2014 Tour of Alberta involved racing on 163.5 km (101.5 miles) of road from Edmonton Northlands to Sherwood Park, travelling through Strathcona County quite close to Beaver County’s western limits.
