Ryley and Holden men charged with Armed Robbery of Ryley Cold Beer and Spirits

Charged with the armed robbery of Ryley Cold Beer and Spirits are Evan Ryan, 22, of Ryley and Kris Chevalier, 20, of Holden. A youth has also been charged but cannot be named as he is under the age of 18 years.

The armed robbery involved the theft of a knapsack full of liquor and $500 in cash. As reported last week in the Mercury, three males charged into the liquor store at 8:30 p.m. on a dark Monday evening.

An employee kept a cool head while the robbers tried to scare and intimidate him with a shotgun and a large knife.

Harinder Handal was the employee. He was visiting with friend Cecilia Esteban when the three men burst in.
