A meeting was held today at the Tofield Community Hall to discuss the problems with predators that occurred this year at the Blackfoot Grazing Reserve.

Well over 20 head of cattle were lost over the course of the summer, and the members of the Blackfoot Grazing Association have been trying to get the attention of government to help them alleviate this problem.

Sitings of packs of wolves have been fairly frequent at the reserve and many animals have been cruelly injured and/or killed during the attacks on them that have taken place.

The season has ended and producers have taken their animals home, some of them a month early, but the problem of how to deal with the losses already suffered, and what to do about the wolves themselves, has not yet been solved.
