“David and Goliath” contest likely for Green candidate in Lakeland
Lindbrook resident Nora Abercrombie is working towards establishing a local Green Party of Canada presence.
“A bunch of us have joined together to start a Green Party of Canada riding association in Battle River – Crowfoot, our new riding,” said Abercrombie. When the next federal election is called, the riding boundaries will change from Vegreville-Wainwright to Battle River – Crowfoot.
Any Green Party candidate will be up against the juggernaut of Conservative politics in this area of Alberta, with current Conservative MP Leon Benoit elected or re-elected eight times. Benoit will be out of the running in this riding, however that doesn’t really change the odds.
