The county has agreed to help out Beaver Emergency Medical Services (BEMS) with a $69,200 grant to go towards several projects.

County Council went along with administration’s recommendation to give a grant “to cover the cost of enhanced technologies to assist patients of our local ambulance system.” In his report, CAO Bob Beck called the system “an essential service to our residents and businesses.”

The funding will come out of the Beaver Municipal Solutions (BMS) dividend given to the county geared for intermunicipal capacity building projects.

CAO Bob Beck stated at the county’s Dec. 17 meeting that half of the BMS’ dividend policy funding is earmarked for county projects while the other half will go for urban municipal projects. Whatever isn’t used will be put towards terracem road projects, he said.
