BESC’s Tofield No. 1 Fire Station takes possession of a brand new brush truck
On Thursday, Jan. 22, Station 1 of the Beaver Emergency Services Commission (BESC) located in Tofield took delivery of a new 2014 Brush Truck.
This capable unit was purchased through Dependable Emergency Vehicles in Brampton Ontario.
This brush truck replaces an older unit that has been sent to a support station within BESC.
The brush truck can carry two firefighters, 1,400 litres of water and provide rapid intervention at brush and wildland fire events. The unit will be operated year-round performing wildland firefighting duties in the spring, summer and fall; and, in the winter, the truck has been set up to do traffic control at motor vehicle incidents.
Standing in front of the new truck are, from left: Tofield Fire Chief Dave Oleksyn, BESC Regional Deputy Fire Chief Derian Rosario, Anthony Burch of Dependable Emergency Vehicles who delivered the truck, and Tofield firefighter Andrew Schmidt.
