Tofield Titans host Provincial Pee Wee “C” Tournament
The Tofield Arena was the place to be this past weekend as the crowds poured in to enjoy some excellent hockey at the 2015 Pee Wee “C” Provincials hosted by Zone 7 champions, the Tofield Titans.
Eight teams participated in the four-day event, including Zone 1 champions High Prairie Buchanan Lumber Blades, Zone 2 champions Marwayne Sled Dogs, Zone 3 champions Westlock Warriors, Zone 4 champions Thorsby Thunder, Zone 5 champions Claresholm Thunder, Zone 6 champions Hanna Colts, Zone 7 host team/champions Tofield Titans, and Zone 7 representatives Sedgewick Sharks.
The festivities kicked off Thursday afternoon with opening ceremonies. In a darkened arena, three cadets brought in the flags, Tofield RCMP officer Cst. Devin Wilson entered in his red serge uniform, along with the Mayor of Tofield Harold Conquest, Hockey Alberta representatives Ralph and Grace Weist, and Tofield Minor Hockey representative Sandra Codd.
The excitement built as announcer Kevin Smook introduced each of the teams, each entering carrying glow sticks.
