Satellites continue on late-season slump
Tofield Satellites dropped two home games on the weekend, extending its losing streak to four after 5-2 and 6-4 defeats to Daysland and Morinville at Tofield Arena, Friday and Saturday respectively.
Satellites drop to 10-4-0-1 with the recent losses, but still holds on comfortably to second place in the North Central Hockey League’s North Division.
On Friday evening, Tofield was outplayed by visiting rival Daysland North Stars (12-2-1), the first place team from the South Division.
Satellites only trailed 1-0 after the first period, in which they were hemmed in their own end and outshot 12-4.
Tofield scored two goals around the middle of the second period to take the lead 2-1, and the two teams played a close wide-open period. Unfortunately for the home crowd… for more see the Jan. 12/16 Mercury
