Satellites badly outplay visiting Morinville Kings in 7-1 win in game 1 of opening round playoff series
The Satellites opening round best-of-5 playoff series against Morinville Kings will be going the minimum unless the challengers have more to offer than they showed in game one’s 7-1 Tofield victory at home on Saturday.
Tofield dominated virtually every aspect of the game, beginning with the stellar goaltending of Tanner Schalin who stopped 33 of 34 shots for a .971 save percentage.
The home team’s defensive game can be credited for keeping the Morinville players to the perimeter almost all night, as shots mostly came long distance and quality scoring opportunities were held to a minimum.
