Tofield Titan boys win silver at 18th Annual Quad School Tournament

The 18th annual Quad School Tournament was hosted by Tofield, Ryley, Hay Lakes, and Bawlf schools over the past weekend.

This years’ edition comprised of 20 girls teams and 8 boys teams including many ASAA ranked teams between the girls and boys divisions. The rankers were proven right as the highest ranked teams ASAA-1A # 2 Senator Gershaw (Bow Island) won the girls division while the defending 1A boys provincial champion and current #2 in the 1A boys division Grand Trunk (Evansburg) proved too much in the boys division.

In the Girls division Gershaw dominated the tournament with double digit wins in each of their games. In their opening game they defeated Acme 62-32 and then in their closest game defeated Hay Lakes in the quarter final 66-54.

In the semi-final they beat Bawlf 75-49 and then Pincher Creek 80-64 to claim the title led by tournament MVP’s Cassidy Babe’s 42 point performance. In other A Pool action Bawlf won bronze beating Rosemary 55-34.
