Crime fighting honoured at Beaverhill Rural Crime Watch fundraiser
The 19th Annual Beaverhill Rural Crime Watch fundraising supper and auction was held Saturday, Feb. 27 at the Ryley Community Hall.
With rural crime appearing to be on the rise, those present recognized the need to support an organization that works to prevent it.
“I want to express our appreciation to the volunteers who keep our organization alive and well in our communities,” said Crime Watch President Jim Warren, who acted as master of ceremonies for the event.
Reeve Kevin Smook added: “We’re blessed to have great work from the RCMP, in both Viking and Tofield,” noting “there are members here tonight. Your contributions are very much noticed.
“The people in Beaver County value safety and peace of mind. That’s why Beaverhill Rural Crime Watch is so important. Congratulations and keep up the good work.”
