Han Christensen celebrates 100th birthday; WWII veteran has big day

Hans Christensen’s life was celebrated with family and friends at a 100th birthday tea held Feb. 23 at the Tofield Lodge.

Many people spoke of a life well lived, of someone who gave to his community through many avenues and served his country in the Second World War.

His family was at his side, including daughters Sonja Lindsay and June Christensen, as well as son Tom Christensen and his wife Kim.

Although Hans’ wife, Winnie, has passed away, she was there in spirit along with the family as photos were shown and fond remembrances were made.
