Ladies Mixed Bonspiel competes with 23 teams – For first time, teams from China and Korea play in bonspiel at Tofield Rink

The Tofield Curling club’s Women’s Mixed Bonspiel had 23 teams competing this year. And for the first time, teams from China and South Korea are playing here to hone their skills for future competition. The Chinese curlers eventually won the tournament in finals on Sunday.

“It is a Mardi Gras theme this year,” said bonspiel organizer and curler Jessica Thom. “We have a team from Korea and a team from China, as well as surrounding areas.

The ladies always have a good time at their bonspiel with a different theme every year and a banquet on Saturday night. There are so many teams participating this year that the banquet was held in the Tofield Arena, said Thom.
