Local heavy metal group wins four awards at Battle of the Bands

They haven’t been together long, but already a local band has managed to take first place at a Battle of the Bands competition in Consort.

The heavy metal band, calling itself If I Fall, beat out three other bands in the group/community category, while three of its members also won individual awards for a grand total of four in one night.

The band regularly practices at North Star School on Sunday’s Jam Night, honing their skills for their chance to shine.

It was only their second such competition since teaming up, but “it turned out good,” said bass guitarist A.J. Howse. He joined fellow guitarist Nathan Begin, drummer Tyler Lavigne, and vocalists Ivan Long and Lane Hawreschuk, for the April 8 Battle event.
