Ryley mayor refutes rumour she is leaving post
Ryley Mayor Lavonne Svenson won’t be quitting her mayoral job anytime soon.
“I can unequivocally say I am not resigning,” she said, in an interview last Friday. She decided it was time to dispel a rumour which has been circulating via an anonymous letter.
The letter was delivered to people’s residences in the village. It stated among many other items that the mayor was quitting in order to take over the CAO position, which Svenson categorically denied.
The May Village of Ryley newsletter, The Village Voice, included a letter from the mayor to the townspeople, addressing some of the issues being charged by the anonymous writer.
