DARE program graduates another crop of students taught to resist drugs and violence

Dare-Class Another crop of Grade 6 students from Tofield School graduated from the DARE program last Friday morning. DARE stands for Drug Abuse Resistance Education and Cst. Kimberley Christensen of the Tofield RCMP has been teaching the program for the past five years.

The program teaches kids to resist drugs and violence and to learn more positive ways of making choices and dealing with stress.

Teacher Deanna Vikse and Cst. Christensen greeted everyone, and Benjamin Woodruff sang “O’ Canada.”

DARE grads Faith Houle, Taylor Roberts, Kevin Deng and Abby Match presented their winning essays on what they had learned about themselves and others through this self awareness program.
