Tofield’s three day Sodbuster extravaganza
The 34th annual Tofield Sodbuster Rodeo weekend was a three-day extravaganza with something for everybody to enjoy.
The rodeo Promenade Friday evening was a tremendous success. The street festival started at 5 p.m. – an hour earlier than previous years – and ended at 9 p.m. In-between those hours main street was filled with people looking for food, fun and entertainment.
The rodeo took place over three days and the weather cooperated beautifully, despite the earlier downpours a week or two before. The rodeo is sponsored by the Tofield Ag Society.
Ag President Kai Kristensen said: “This rodeo brings some of the best amateur rodeo contestants in your favourite rodeo events.
Saturday a pancake breakfast kicked off the festivities, followed by the rodeo in the afternoon and the rodeo dance in the evening featuring the Clayton Bellamy Band.
