Ryley’s Railway Avenue using innovative 3D cellular confinement system – looks like a honeycomb before filled in and paved over
Ryley’s 50th Avenue is receiving a major upgrade and paving through a village project which started July 4. More commonly referred to as Railway Avenue, the road is being upgraded by Paradox Access Solutions.
The company is using a technique it says will prolong the life of the road over extended periods.
The work started with the stripping of the old asphalt and cold mix on the road and upgrading the sub-standard grade levels on the west end of the road.
After the road was compacted with soil, the company started placing a geocell “Tough Cell” called PRS Neoweb that has the appearance of giant honeycombs. The spaces in the web are filled with crushed gravel and crushed recycled concrete which makes the surface hard and durable enough to drive on.
