Candles lit in remembrance at Tofield School ceremony
Tofield School gymnasium last Thursday was filled for the annual Remembrance service honouring Canada’s war dead.
The services are part of many held in schools and halls throughout the land during this most important week of honouring those who paid the ultimate sacrifice, and thanking those who remain.
But this year, along with the more traditional elements, a candlelight ceremony was included that added a more personal touch for many present.
Attending on behalf of Tofield Legion Branch No. 91, were Bill Glover, Joe Yurkowski and John Warner. Also present were Battle River-Crowfoot MP Kevin Sorenson and Tofield Mayor Harold Conquest.
