– Blast from Tofield’s past: Henry Wood’s Steam Engine. In 1903 Henry Wood purchased one of the first steam engines. It was used at the sawmill where the settlers brought logs to saw for lumber.

– Carol Livingstone’s Loose ends column: Going without. So that crazy woman running naked through the streets yelling, “Give me Google or give me death!” must have been some other nutcase. I can’t run. 

– Beaver County candidates face off: Scott, Kallal battle for Division 2 seat on Beaver County Council

– 3 candidates vie for seat on BRSD: Three Battle River School Division candidates participated in the All Candidates Forum Oct. 4 in Tofield. They were: Ruth Baerg, Neil Hardy and Zsuzsanna Hemperger.

– Ryley council candidates: Andy Kowalski; Mathew Kowalski; and Nik Lee

– Holden holds all candidate’s forum: The Village of Holden Council election forum was held on Sunday, Oct. 1 at the Seniors Drop-In Centre with six candidates vying for the five council seats available.

– Fire Prevention Section: Tofield, Ryley and Holden fire departments featured.

– Tofield RCMP report: Firearm allegedly pointed at residents along TWP 502.
