I was always fascinated with the science of food: Laurie Blaney

Mrs. Laurie Blaney is the Foods and Fashion Program teacher, who has been teaching at the Tofield School for 28 years, being the only school she has ever worked at.

“I was always fascinated with the science of food and my initial career choice was to be a dietician,” Blaney said. “My mother is an excellent cook and I always loved  how the kitchen was the best place to be.”

Blaney takes pride in what she does, and explained that her Home Economics room is that kitchen in everyone’s house where students always feel welcome and

“at home” even if they don’t like vegetables!
