Ryley’s Solberg to represent Canada alongside her cousin
Kearstin Solberg, who had been a part of the Ryley community in her formative years, will be representing the country as part of Team Canada’s slo-pitch team in Kitchener, Ont.
Playing alongside, Kiera Lyons, another Albertan, and also a former Ryley resident, the cousins will be doing what they know best – playing slo-pitch.
Solberg said she was born into the sport.
“I remember going to watch my parents in tournaments when I was small,” Solberg recalled. “I looked forward to those weekends because that meant chasing home-run balls for a quarter or a five-cent candy and my parents’ friends or aunts and uncles would all pitch to me after and before every one of their games.”
