Town of Tofield recognized for ‘Ride for Dad’
June 10, 2017 was a cold and windy day, recalled Terry Willisko, the co-chair for Edmonton Motorcycle ‘Ride for Dad.’
But that did not stop residents and local businesses of Tofield to help out the riders who wound through the town in hopes of raising funds for prostate cancer research and awareness programs.
“Despite the less than favourable weather, the Tofield community came out in huge numbers to greet us and cheer us on, besides providing us with a hot meal,” Willisko said.
For 500 “soggy” motorcyclists, it meant a lot.
‘Ride for Dad’ national president, Garry Janz was blown away, according to Willisko, and said that Tofield was one of the best stops he had ever been through.
