Tofield RCMP warns residents of CRA scam
During the last week Tofield RCMP responded to 50 calls for service. Included in the calls for service were four 911 hangups, five motor vehicle collisions, and six false alarms.
On May 21, the Tofield RCMP responded to a call of a break and enter to a rural residence near Ryley. The caller reported a boat and several items of sentimental value had been stolen from his property.
On May 25, the Tofield RCMP received a call from a male who reported he was contacted by the Canada Revenue Agency and advised he owed $4,300 in taxes. The caller was advised this is an ongoing scam and not to provide any personal information or funds. No money was given to the suspects.
On May 25, a residence of Beaver County reported his horse trailer had been stolen from his farm near Tofield. The trailer was located by Spruce Grove RCMP the following day when a male who had purchased the trailer saw it on Facebook and thought it was the stolen trailer.
