Grade 1 students presented with flags
Grade 1 students of CW Sears were given a lesson in Canadian flags on Monday, June 4 as Tofield Lions Club members – Norris Fox, Kay Procter, and Jim Warren – distributed flags in all three sections of F, L, and S.
“With Canada Day coming up, it’s always a good way to show Lion pride by getting these flags out to the students,” said Warren.
It has been more than 20 years since the Lions have been hosting this event.
Warren informed the students how the flag came into existence in 1965 and the colours were red and white because they were decreed to be such by King George V.
All the students also received a Lions Pride Project certificate, a project founded by Lions Foundation of Canada.
