Hit and run on Main Street results in 72-hour suspension

During the last week, Tofield RCMP responded to 44 calls for service. Included in the calls for service were three 911 hangups and a motor vehicle collision.

On Aug. 7, a resident of Beaver County called to advise of a truck canopy laying on Range Road 512. There’s no information at this time as to where the item originated from.

On Aug. 8, Tofield RCMP received a call of a Break and Enter to the theatre in Holden. The suspects gained access to the building using a pry bar. Once inside, they stole electronics, and concession pop and food. Edmonton Forensic Identification Section attended and was able to locate some evidence, which will be forwarded to the Forensic lab for additional examination.

On Aug. 9, Tofield RCMP received a call from NAPA who advised their compound had been broken into and several batteries stolen from the location. The suspects were observed on video surveillance breaking the lock on the gate and entering the compound. Once inside, the suspects loaded several batteries into the back of a pickup truck and departed. While investigating the NAPA break in, RCMP were advised of a Break and Enter, which occurred at the Car Wash compound. The gate had been cut and suspects entered and stole several batteries. Some additional items were moved inside of the compound but were not taken. RCMP are still investigating.

On Aug. 9, Tofield RCMP received a call of a hit at run on 50 Street in Tofield.
