Tofield Historical Museum hosts Open House

This past Friday, Aug. 17, the Tofield Historical Museum hosted their Open House for the public, with the local paper, Tofield Mercury’s 100th anniversary being the main focus that evening. The event was held from 4 to 7 p.m.

Tofield Historical Society President Mary Taylor and Volunteer Curator Lorraine McNeely invited guests and gave them a tour of the facility and the various exhibitions that they had put on display.

In attendance was town councillor Brenda Chehade, Museum board members, and Tofield and area residents who took in the Mercury exhibit, which had a room dedicated to the publication’s timeline, along with a table displaying some of the front pages of older editions of the Mercury. Also on display were the Tofield Standard and Advertiser, forerunners of the publication.
