Impaired driving and break-ins throughout the week
During the past week, Tofield RCMP responded to 40 calls for service.
On Aug. 20, Tofield RCMP received a call of a possible impaired driver on Township Rd. 512. The RCMP attended and located the vehicle a Chevy Cavalier. The driver was showing signs of alcohol consumption and provided a sample of breath into a roadside device. The result was a fail. The driver was arrested for impaired driving and taken to the RMCP detachment where she provided two samples of breath being 110 mg% and 100 mg%. The driver, a 23-year-old female from Edmonton was charged with impaired driving and driving with a blood alcohol level over 80 mg%. She was released from custody on a Promise To Appear to attend Vegreville Provincial court on Oct. 1 at 10 a.m.
On Aug. 21, a call of a fire was received at a rural road in Beaver County. The fire department and RCMP attended and found insulation for wire was on fire. Most of the actual wire had been removed and was gone.
