Mercury publisher visits Sunshine Villa

Tofield Mercury Publisher Kerry Anderson joined the Sunshine Villa residents on Thursday evening, July 26 to participate in their weekly Tofield Mercury current events activity.

This activity originated from resident Stan Penny’s idea to develop a way to read the weekly paper out loud, so residents coping with vision problems could still be aware of the community news.

Penny is the facilitator of the program. In his absence, when Penny has to be away, fellow resident Joseph Voegtlin takes over. Kerry Anderson want-ed to personally greet and issue invitations to the residents of the upcoming Tofield Mercury’s 100th anniversary celebrations on Friday, Aug. 24.

The residents appreciated his visit and had many questions for him about the newspaper business, the history of the Tofield Mercury, the future of print news and Anderson’s history with the publication.
