Collisions and mischief keep Tofield RCMP busy
During last week, Tofield RCMP responded to 66 calls for service. Included in the calls for service were four motor vehicle collisions, one false alarm, and two 911 hangups.
On Aug. 27, a resident of Tofield reported his vehicle had been damaged overnight. On checking his vehicle, the driver’s door handle was broken. No entry was gained into the vehicle and nothing was reported missing. Shortly afterwards another resident of Tofield reported their vehicle had been entered overnight and several items stolen from inside.
On Aug. 27, the Tofield RCMP with the assistance of the Eastern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit attended a residence in Tofield in regards to a female who was wanted on warrant for being unlawfully at large. The female was located and arrested without incident and lodged into RCMP cells for a Judicial Interim Release hearing. The female, a 28-year-old resident of Tofield was remanded into custody to attend court in Fort Saskatchewan on Sept. 6.
On Aug. 28, Tofield RCMP received two calls of a motor vehicle rollover on Rge. Rd 175 south of Ryley. On arrival the vehicle a black Jeep Cherokee was located in a farmer’s field on its side. The windshield appeared to have been kicked out from the inside. No driver or occupants were located at the scene however there was several full and empty cans of coolers. RCMP are still investigating.
