Thefts keep Tofield RCMP busy
During the past week Tofield RCMP responded to 31 calls for service. Included in the calls for service were four motor vehicle collisions.
On Sept. 25, a resident of Beaver County reported the theft of a 1938 Chevrolet Mater Delux, a 1927 Ford Roadster and a 1931 Ford Roadster from their property. A tandem trailer was also stolen from the location. Suspects had entered the property by cutting the fences at the entrance to the property and then cutting the locks off of several sea cans.
On Sept. 25, Tofield RCMP received a call of a domestic dispute in Holden. Members attended and on speaking to the caller, he advised there was a dispute over money and the suspect had stolen his wallet and withdrawn money from his back account. In the process the suspect had assaulted the caller as well. The suspect was located and arrested shortly thereafter and held for a judicial interim release hearing. The suspect, a 35-year-old female from Holden was charged with Assault with a weapon and theft under. She was released from custody on a no cash recognizance to attend Vegreville Provincial Court on Oct. 15 at 10 a.m.
On Sept. 28, a resident of Tofield reported his personal information was used by suspects in an attempt to gain credit cards. The caller had been contacted by two different credit card companies asking for additional information to process his credit card application. The caller advised he had never made the application and both applications were terminated. . . .
