Violation tickets issued for Traffic Safety Act offences

During the past week Tofield RCMP responded to 38 calls for service. Included in the calls for service were six motor vehicle collisions.

On Oct. 2, Tofield RCMP were on patrol in Tofield and conducted a vehicle stop on a Pontiac Sunfire. The driver of the vehicle was found to be wanted on a pay or stay warrant. The driver a 40-year-old male from Edmonton was arrested and lodged into cells. He was unable to come up with the funds required for release and was transported to the Edmonton Remand Centre to serve the time.

On Oct. 3, RCMP were called to a residence in Tofield for a heavily intoxicated female. On arrival the female was located however she was almost completely unresponsive. EMS was called and transported the female to the hospital for treatment. A few hours later, hospital staff called for the same female who was causing problems at the hospital. RCMP attended and arrested the female for causing a disturbance. The female was taken to RCMP cells and lodged. The female was found to be bound by conditions not to consume alcohol and was charged with failing to comply with a recognizance. The 28-year-old female from Edmonton was released from custody on a Promise To Appear to attend Vegreville Provincial Court. . . . .contd.
