According to Elizabeth Airey, one of the two presenters, the other being Wendy Hilton, “A Quilt of Valour™ is a Tribute to an injured CAF Member past or present.” A Quilt of Valour™ is a “hug from the nation” to an injured CAF Member or honoured Veteran who has served and made sacrifices for our country.

“We got the names of the 11 vets from Tofield Legion’s Bonnie and Barb Ferguson, and the qualifying Legion members, (those who had served in WWII, Korea, Bosnia, Rwanda and the Gulf Wars automatically qualified) received a Quilt of Valour,” said Airey. “Six years or ago, I joined the Patchwork Network Quilt Club – a charitable organization – one of the sub-groups of the club was Quilts of Valour.” . . . contd.
