In the rural parts of our new riding, accessible long-term care is a big issue: Steven Hansen

Steven Hansen, based out of Camrose is seeking nomination to represent the Alberta Party for the new Camrose riding in the 2019 provincial election.

Hansen, who is running for public office for the first time, however, is not a newbie to the political circle.

“In 2011, prior to starting law school, I worked as a researcher and speechwriter for the PC caucus,” Hansen explained. “I wrote dozens of speeches and speaking notes for MLAs. From that experience I learned that the most effective communicators in politics are the ones who have done their research and who are flexible in their delivery.”

According to Hansen, reciting great speeches is what actors do.

“Politicians need to know the substance of their speech and deliver it flexibly to their audience,” Hansen said. “I think my experience as a speechwriter will be a real asset for my campaign if I win the nomination.” . . . contd.
