Tofield School hosts Volleyball BRSD Regionals
Tofield School hosted the Jr. Girls Regional BRSD Volleyball tournament for the first time in years on Monday, Nov. 19.
With six teams participating – Bawlf, Daysland, Killam, New Norway, Ryley, and Tofield – there was a lot of liaison and organization that Marcel Flasha had to take care of.
“This is the first time since I have been around that we have hosted the Regionals,” Flasha said. “We’ve tried to do our best; we have a commissioner, kids are keeping the score, and we got art classes involved to work on some banners.”
According to Flasha, the tournament rotates, depending on who won the playoffs.
“Our Junior Girls won the Division 2 playoffs, which gave us a chance to host the tournament,” Flasha added. “In Sept., when the Phys. Ed meeting happens we usually get an idea where it will be hosted and we have to wait till all the league games are done so that’s really short notice. But, that also give all the teams to play as many league games they possibly can, which is great.” . . . contd.
