Josh Whitbread’s stellar…

Tofield Tier 3 Bantams (5-4-0) won back to back road games over the weekend, 4-1 at Hinton on Friday and then 2-0 at Jasper on Saturday.

On Friday the two teams blanked the first period but Tofield came out on fire in the middle frame scoring three including Jackson Gates’ winner at 7:53. He had a 3-point game (2g 1a). Connolly Mozak and Marshal Korpak also connected. Assists went to; Derek Liptak, Kien Yuha, Zach Lungal and Eva Cross.

Josh Whitbread was almost perfect in goal, stopping an amazing 51 of 52 shots (.981 save percentage).

On Saturday, Josh Whitbread stopped all 45 shots for the shutout over Jasper. Zack Lungal and Lucas Turnbull scored the Tofield goals, while Jackson Gates and Eva Cross collected assists.

Over the weekend Josh Whitbread’s save percentage was .990. On the season his save percentage is .923, best in the league, despite having had over three times as many shots against as any other top goaltender.
